Pesticide industry floats endangered species bill

The pesticide industry’s leading trade association is floating legislation to relax the endangered species law’s role in the approval of pesticides. A coalition of environmental groups released draft text of a bill that would allow the Environmental Protection Agency to license pesticides without consulting with the agencies responsible for protecting rare creatures under the Endangered Species Act.
