COUNTY EXTENSION AGENT REPORTS Weather conditions for the week were relatively mild and dry with daytime highs mainly in the upper 50's with nighttime lows in the mid 20's. No rain was received this week. Christmas tree harvest continues with wholesale shipments slowing considerably. Other farm activities included winterizing equipment and tending livestock. Conditions continue to be dry, which is good for finishing up harvesting the remaining crops in the fields but not so for planted small grains and pastures. Don Nicholson – Agronomist Region 7
Field activities seem to be proceeding about as good as possible. Soybean harvest is wrapping up and the last small grains are being planted. Warm weather has some of the early small grain fields really jumping. Stephen Bishop – Cleveland SWCD

Weather was fair over last period with below normal rainfall with "0.00" reported with near normal temperatures. Topsoil and Subsoil Moisture is considered "Average Wet." Hard Freezes throughout the period with mild and sunny days. Robert Hawk - Swain County Extension
