A North Carolina preservation group is joining with a family to protect 476 acres (1,926,000 square meters) on a mountain summit. The Asheville Citizen-Times reports the Lyda family of Henderson County and Conserving Carolina have settled on a deal that will allow cattle to continue grazing on the land while it remains open for hikers.
