Meadows introduces bill to end Multi-State Plan requirement

U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows, along with fellow Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, has introduced a bill that would repeal the Affordable Care Act requirement that states provide a nonprofit national health insurance plan, known as the Multi-State Plan program. In an announcement Tuesday, Johnson called the requirement “the definition of government waste.” Meadows said the plans were a “poorly conceived provision of an even more poorly conceived bill.”
