Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler sits down each week with Southern Farm Network’s Mike Davis to discuss “Today’s Topic.”

An upcoming Food Business Conference on Feb. 14 in Durham ties into broader efforts to create more value-added processing and food manufacturing opportunities in the state. The goal is to create more jobs, particularly in the agriculturally rich, rural areas of the state, and to grow the overall ag economy. Food manufacturing will also allow more of the dollars generated from food products to stay in North Carolina. The conference is designed for established food businesses and will focus on identifying new markets through census data and Google analytics. The cost is $55 per person, or $45 if you register before Jan. 5.
