Sanderson Farms is managing separate situations at two of its plants with workers at a Texas facility now back on the job and workers in North Carolina at home because of a massive East Coast storm.

Operations at the Sanderson Farms plant in Palestine, Texas, were briefly halted yesterday after a bomb threat was received, according to a report from KLTV, which quoted a local law enforcement official. The evacuated employees returned safely into the building after a search of the facility. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, the poultry processor canceled the second shift at one of its facilities in North Carolina yesterday and adjusted other shifts today in light of a storm system that already has dumped show in states from Florida to Massachusetts. However, second-shift offal/rendering, housekeeping, shipping and maintenance operations were on a normal schedule despite the storm, according to a report in The Robesonian, citing information from Sanderson.
