N.C. House passes GenX bill, but Senate rejects it

Senate leader says $2.34 million legislation would be too expensive and ineffective. The state House of Representatives voted 116-0 on Wednesday to spend more than $2.34 million to address the GenX contamination in and around the Cape Fear River south of Fayetteville, but its chances of becoming law appear to be nil.The leader of the state Senate on Wednesday evening said the House provisions would be a waste of money and ineffective.
