Train employees when:
o A safety program is first established
o When new workers are employed
o When employees are given a new task that they have not yet been trained on  
o When you become aware of a new hazard  


Training is a practical solution:
o Helps workers learn to do their job safely
o Gets your employees thinking about job hazards on their work areas
o Reminds them of their responsibly in working safely  


Keep training interesting, adults remember 90% of what they are shown, say and do:
o Use illustrations
o Incorporate hands-on demonstrations  
o Small group exercises
o Discussions
o Hazards Hunts
