Henderson County’s Extension Master Gardeners volunteered over 9,000 hours in 2017 in service to the community, landing the group in seventh place statewide for total number of hours donated. The average contribution of each member at 130 hours is significant, resulting in second-place recognition statewide for their efforts. This level of volunteerism is equivalent to 14 full-time county employees.
