On Feb. 20, the department will host produce buyers from Lowes Foods and US Foods at the Grower/Buyer Exchange. The event, organized by the department’s Marketing Division, is geared to N.C. fruit and vegetable growers interested in selling their products to retailers and food service companies.

Growers can schedule personal, 15-minute meetings with category buyers from one or both companies. Although short, the sessions will allow growers plenty of time to share details about their available products and supply capabilities. In addition, growers will learn about specific requirements for selling to Lowes Foods and US Foods.

The event will be held at the Stanford M. Adams Training Facility at Jordan Lake Educational State Forest, 3490 Big Woods Road, Chapel Hill. Growers can register online at
https://growerbuyerexchange.eventbrite.com. Registration deadline is Feb. 9. Space is limited, so don’t delay.

The Grower/Buyer Exchange is supported by a grant from the N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
