Report questions pipeline’s economic impact

Opponents of a 600-mile natural gas pipeline proposed to run from West Virginia to North Carolina have released a report calling into question the project’s economic impact on three North Carolina counties. The company planning to build the pipeline says it will attract new manufacturers and industries to the area.The report calls for the state Department of Environmental Quality to hold public hearings on the issue in Cumberland, Robeson and Johnston counties.
