Immigration crackdown worries

An increase in raids and arrests by Immigration and Custom Enforcement likely has some farmers on edge, because some operations have been the target of such actions under previous administrations. Perdue told reporters that although he doesn't have any guarantees from the White House that ICE will avoid farms, he has talked with Homeland Security Department officials and "implored" them to understand that immigrant workers on farmers are not criminals. "They are hardworking people that farmers need," Perdue said he told them.
