Workers to start clearing trees for Atlantic Coast Pipeline project

The company planning to build a $5 billion natural gas pipeline that will end in Pembroke plans to start cutting down trees in Cumberland and Robeson counties this week.Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC, which won approval of a key water quality certification from the state Department of Environmental Quality on Friday, was formed by Dominion Energy, Duke Energy and Southern Company Gas to build the 600-mile pipeline from West Virginia to North Carolina.
