SOYBEAN OFF FARM GRAIN STOCKS
Soybean off farm grain stocks totaled 17,042,000 bushels on December 1, 2017, a 17% decrease to the
20,465,000 bushels reported on December 1, 2016.


COTTON SEED
North Carolina farmers produced an estimated 217,000 tons of COTTONSEED in 2017.


WINTER WHEET SEEDINGS
2018 winter wheat seedings in North Carolina total 460,000 acres.


CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on December 1, 2017 totaled 258,087,000. The total was up 3% from the December 1, 2016 total of 250,943,000 eggs. The total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators on December 1, 2017 increased 4% from 4,703,000 eggs in 2016 to 4,900,000.


SOWS FARROWING
North Carolina producers intend to farrow 465,000 sows during the December 2017 – February 2018 quarter and 460,000 sows during the March – May 2018 quarter.


PIG CROP
The State’s pig crop during the September – November 2017 period totaled 4.69 million head, down 1% from the same period last year.


PIGS PER LITTER
Pigs saved per litter averaged at 10.2, which is down from the 10.3 pigs saved during the same quarter last year.


HOGS AND PIGS
All hogs and pigs on North Carolina farms on December 1, 2017 totaled 9.0 million head, down 2% from September 1.
