Dear Friends and Partners,
It is with a very heavy heart that I share news of the passing of Dr. Joseph Zublena, former CALS associate dean and director of NC State Extension. Joe was a firm believer in the mission, the work, and the impact of Extension, having dedicated more than 25 years of his life to serving the people of North Carolina. He considered it a great honor to serve as director.
Through Joe's leadership, Extension developed and executed a strategic plan that honored its century-long service to the people of North Carolina and established a path forward to ensure another 100 years of excellence. We are indebted to Joe for his commitment and passion to advance the well-being of our state and for his friendship to us all.
We ask that you please keep Joe's wife, Lise, and children, Ailis and Jonathan, in your thoughts and prayers. We will share details concerning funeral arrangements as they become available.
