Ag coalition urges Lighthizer to pursue talks with TPP countries

The Asia-Pacific Market Working Group of the U.S. Food and Agriculture Dialogue for Trade, a coalition including NASDA and more than 100 food and agriculture groups, urged U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to follow up with President Trump after the President stated he is open to negotiating trade deals with members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or even the whole group. The United States has free trade agreements with six TPP members — Chile, Singapore, Australia, Peru, Mexico and Canada — but not with Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, New Zealand and Japan.
