Rural economy shows hopeful signs; Perdue says ICE not an issue for farmers; total farm land down

Economists are projecting that in many areas we are reaching what’s defined as “full employment” which is a jobless rate of five percent or less. But, what about those areas where jobs are still harder to find? N.C. State Economist Mike Walden says the current situation provides hope for them. Walden says companies may also be more willing to train those in non-metro areas of the state as labor shortages grow.
