Mark Harris faces 9th District incumbent Rep. Robert Pittenger and fellow challenger Clarence Goins of Eastover in the 2018 Republican primary. Meanwhile, a second Democrat has entered the 8th District race. Republican Mark Harris of Charlotte filed on Monday to run for the 9th District Congressional seat held by fellow Republican and Charlotte resident Rep. Robert Pittenger.
