At the livestock auction held Thursday at Smithfield a total of 583 cattle and no goats were sold. Slaughter cows were unevenly steady; bulls were steady to $1.00 lower when compared to the previous sale.   Feeder steers were steady to $1.00 higher, bulls were mixed, heifers were steady to $1.00 lower.  Demand was good with buyer activity moderate.  Moderate offerings with quality of cattle average.
