For Sampson County, N.C., farmer Jay Sullivan success depends more on asking why than asking how. “A long time ago I had somebody tell me that it was important to know why. If a fellow only wanted to know how, he would end up working for the man who knew why. I’m here to tell you that if you can find out why, that’s where profitability lies for the most part,” Sullivan said at the 29th North Carolina Commodities Conference in Durham Jan. 11.
