The thread manufacturer Coats & Clark is shutting down one of its business units, a move that will result in the loss of 18 full-time jobs in south Charlotte. Coats & Clark said it is shuttering its Westminster Life Styles Fabrics business unit. Another 55 full-time and six part-time workers will be laid off as the company closes its distribution facility in Greer, S.C., Coats & Clark said in a notice sent to the state this week.
