President Donald Trump’s proposed tariff on steel and aluminum imports is threatening to create a divide between steel producers and steel purchasers, with two North Carolina corporations representing the opposing sides of the debate.
On one side is Insteel Industries Inc. of Mount Airy, which makes steel wire reinforcing products largely for infrastructure projects.
