Advocates ask USDA to delay hog inspection rule

A coalition of worker and consumer safety groups sparred Thursday with USDA over the proposed hog inspection rule, with advocates arguing that the department should hold off until peer-reviewed research on the public health effects is published. USDA, however, says the framework is already in place.
