The Food and Drug Administration — as expected — launched Tuesday a formal review of flavorings in nicotine and tobacco products to evaluate what role they have with youth use. The announcement comes eight months after the FDA made it clear it will try to limit, if not eliminate, flavorings in tobacco products even as it takes a more conservative approach on other regulatory goals.
