Farm bill stakes increase

Tensions over the health of farms has put pressure on lawmakers passing a farm bill before the Sept. 30 deadline, when funding for farm programs runs out. Perdue said last week that Congress may have to take some "extraordinary measures" in the farm bill based on what happens in the trade dispute with China.
Trump tweets: Trump reassured his followers on Twitter that everything will be fine - including his relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping - despite concerns of tensions escalating.
"President Xi and I will always be friends, no matter what happens with our dispute on trade," Trump tweeted on Sunday. "China will take down its Trade Barriers because it is the right thing to do. Taxes will become Reciprocal & a deal will be made on Intellectual Property. Great future for both countries!"
