Tip for Your Operation: Are you ready for an emergency on the farm?

Being prepared for an on-farm emergency is critical to timely care. Be prepared with a Farm Emergency Plan.


Your plan should have the following elements:
1. Emergency numbers for local fire, police, sheriff, etc.  
2. Business numbers for your electric, gas and phone companies.  
3. Clear directions to your farm from the nearest major road or highway.
4. You facility information.  
5. Site information, including any chemical onsite, like pesticides.
6. A map of your farm.  
7. Emergency response procedures, who is making the phone calls, where are employees meeting, and safe exit routes.
8. Practice your plan!
