Perdue: USDA developing rules for $600M rural broadband pilot

The USDA is working as quickly as possible to develop rules for the rural broadband pilot that Congress authorized in the fiscal 2018 omnibus spending bill, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue said. The program, which is part of Trump's infrastructure initiative, will provide loans and grants to service providers in underserved and tribal areas to leverage an estimated $1 billion in total new rural broadband projects.
