USDA is expected to release is GMO labeling rules in the next several days or weeks, according to the National Law Review.
The labeling rules are required by the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Law, which was passed and signed by President Obama in summer 2016. The law requires the Agricultural Marketing Service to develop a national mandatory labeling system to indicate the presence of bioengineering material.
