Brunswick approves changes to solar farm rules

After working for months to craft additional rules for solar farms, Brunswick County Commissioners have unanimously adopted a watered down version of the initial proposal. The new rules eliminate a maximum size limit and the requirement of an update every three years, requiring one instead if there’s a change of ownership. The changes also eliminate the improvement guarantee requirement, or financial bonding, but does require solar farm applicants to obtain a special-use permit...
