Text The town council’s 3-2 vote last week to adopt a resolution opposing seismic testing and oil exploration made Topsail Beach the second community in Pender County and 20th in Southeastern North Carolina to formally oppose the federal government’s decision to reopen the Atlantic Ocean to drilling. “Our biggest asset is the beach,” said Councilman Tim Zizack, who introduced the resolution. “I valued the risk and reward (of drilling) and if something should happen, how it would devastate this community.” For more of this story, click here.
