Tens of thousands of plastic bottles will be saved from landfills this year and beyond as Greensboro-based Unifi Inc., a maker of synthetic and recycled performance fibers, has reached a three-year deal as the official recycling partner of the Wyndham Championship PGA Tour event. Unifi produces its Repreve performance fiber from recycled material, including plastic bottles, and has recycled more than 10 billion plastic bottles into recycled fiber for clothing, shoes, home goods and other consumer products.
