Some Wilmington restaurants ditching romaine lettuce just to be safe

“We went out and bought a bunch of iceberg lettuce and other greens for salads just to be safe.” Government warnings about E. coli-contaminated lettuce has some Cape Fear diners salad-shy, and a few establishments have thrown out their supply just in case. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recently expanded the warning about chopped and bagged romaine lettuce to include all romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona, region. Customers are urged to only buy romaine at the grocery store or from restaurants if they can confirm the lettuce in question was not produced in Yuma…
