Farmer tapped for state board

A fourth-generation farmer from Nash County has been appointed to a state commission. Edward Bissette, a lifelong Stanhope flue-cured tobacco farmer, has been tapped by Gov. Roy Cooper to serve on the N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
Bissette said he is honored to serve on the commission.
