Duke Energy says it expanded sustainable energy capacity by 20 percent in 2017, part of a goal to generate enough power from such sources to service more than 1 million homes by 2020. “One fact will certainly jump out: In 2017, the company’s renewable energy capacity grew by about 20 percent,” writes Cari Boyce, vice president of Stakeholder Strategy and Sustainability for Duke Energy. “This is pretty remarkable for one year.”
