South Carolina crops look strong in 2018

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture, headquartered in Columbia, SC, foresees good things ahead for its growers and the produce industry despite a strange beginning of spring weather-wise. “Right now, we’re looking at what we feel will be a good season among all of our fresh produce crops,” said Martin Eubanks, assistant commissioner of the SCDA. “We had a sufficiently cool winter with plenty of water. Spring came a little bit early, and there were some windy days. but it cooled back off and the crops look good and the timing seems on track.”
