In Missouri, lawmakers have a beef with fake meat

A battle over fake meat is marinating in Missouri’s capital city. Before departing for a weekend break Thursday, members of the House voted 107-38 to outlaw companies from labeling lab-grown meat products or meat substitutes as, well, meat. In other words, if a product isn’t derived from an actual cow, chicken, turkey or some other animal with two or four feet, it can’t be marketed as meat.
