The state Energy Policy Council will meet Wednesday in Raleigh to hear presentations on bioenergy, including sources, products, environmental and community impacts, and the use of swine waste in the production of bioenergy. Energy Policy Council advises and makes recommendations to the governor and the General Assembly on domestic energy exploration and development that includes strategies to promote economic growth and protect the environment. It also serves as the central energy policy planning body for the state. The council is housed in the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality.
