State House and Senate Democrats are trying again this year to convince Republican leaders to consider a proposal to raise the state's minimum wage, even though similar proposals have been unsuccessful for the past five years. They spoke Tuesday at a press conference for a campaign called Raising Wages NC, made up of labor groups and advocates for minority and lower-income workers.
