On Friday, May 18, 2018, the House of Representatives defeated the farm bill brought to the floor by the House Ag Committee (H.R. 2, Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018) by a vote of 198 to 213. This article reviews the House vote and specific questions about the issues surrounding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) at the center of the partisan disagreement in the House.
