Industrial Hemp Commission to host public meeting June 7 at 9 a.m. in Raleigh

WHO/WHAT: The Industrial Hemp Commission will hold a public meeting to review and approve research pilot program applications and to consider the permanent rules draft, part 2.

BACKGROUND: The N.C. General Assembly passed Senate Bill 313 in 2015, allowing the creation of the Industrial Hemp Commission to develop the rules and licensing structure necessary to stay within federal laws. The Industrial Hemp Commission adopted temporary rules in February 2017, setting up the application requirements and process.
