Don’t blame the soggy conditions on subtropical storm Alberto. While Alberto has made landfall along the Florida panhandle, Scott Kennedy, a NWS meteorologist stationed in Newport, said the rain that’s been falling in Eastern North Carolina is from a “channel of moisture originating in the Caribbean crossing over Cuba and Florida and into the Carolinas.”
