La Grange farmer sentenced for fraud, money laundering

 A La Grange famer was sentenced to 25 months of imprisonment Wednesday afternoon in federal court. Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever III sentenced James Truman Wiggins, Jr., 68, and ordered him to pay resitution in the amount of $5.6 million. Wiggins is also excluded from participating in any federal crop insurance programs for 5 years. The court also ordered forfeiture in the amount of $5.6 million.
