 Friday marks the official start of the hurricane season and forecasters say it appears that this could be a "normal" year after hurricanes Irma and Maria were blamed for several deaths and millions of dollars in damages.
"It's June 1, so here we go," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. "It's the official start to the hurricane season."
