Orange County pilots new mobile app for local agriculture

A new mobile app, Visit NC Farms, encouraging visitors and residents to connect how, when and where farms do business is being piloted in Orange County. The app allows consumers to search for farms that welcome visitors, supply produce and protein to farm-to-table restaurants, and offer value-added agriculture goods in local shops. It also connects consumers to farmers markets and special ag-based events. The app will soon be launched in other North Carolina counties and regions with the goal to expand the project statewide.
