Some members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation say they are opposed to the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their migrant parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. Other congressional members, notably Republican U.S. Sen. Richard Burr of Winston-Salem, and U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-5th, of Banner Elk, indicated they support President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy on immigrants who are accused of illegally crossing the U.S. border.
