“I dig dirt!” exclaimed a small boy via the T-shirt he was wearing at the Leroy James Farmers’ Market. Those words express the attitude of many people who appreciate the soil and the good things that come from it. La Rita Johnson is one of those people. As market manager, she works to fill the stalls each week with local vendors who sell good things and create an atmosphere she hopes will bring more people out to the facility on County Home Road south of Greenville.
