 It isn't just tourism and beer. Well, sometimes it's beer. But on the other side of the Great Recession, Asheville's economy has become increasingly tied to the manufacturing industry. At about 21,300 workers, the industry employs more people in Asheville's metropolitan area than it has at any point in the past decade, data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows.
