Chicken processor Brakebush Brothers Inc. said the Mocksville, N.C., plant it recently purchasedfrom House of Raeford Farms Inc. will accommodate three production lines when fully utilized, which is projected for early 2019.

Brakebush, a 93-year-old family-owned, value-added processor, said the 72,000-square-foot plant will be restored with state-of-the-art processing equipment. The cook plant was badly damaged in a fire in December 2017.

Brakebush, based in Westfield, Wis., said in a news release it is retaining the employment of many of the management, administrative and hourly staff. The plant will employ over 300 team members when at full capacity.

Brakebush also has operations in Irving, Texas, and Wells, Minn. The company sells more than 200 further-processed chicken products to foodservice, industrial, convenience store and restaurant channels.
