Canadian sportswear giant Gildan Activewear (NYSE: GIL), which operates two facilities in the Triad, will close its Burke County plant Sept. 13 and lay off 100 workers, according to a filing with the state Department of Commerce.
Gildan notified state officials it will close the Peds Manufacturing Group facility in Hildebran, about 60 miles northwest of Charlotte.
