Federal agents from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday executed a criminal search warrant at House of Raeford's Greenville, S.C., plant involving hundreds of workers as part of an ongoing 10-month investigation, ICE spokesperson Barbara Gonzalez confirmed to Meatingplace.com.

Nearly 450 agents detained workers outside of House of Raeford's Columbia Farms poultry plant. A recent review of immigration paperwork showed that 775 out of 825 worker documents contained false information, U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald told the Associated Press.

The Columbia Farms plant in Greenville has been the subject of an ICE investigation since November 2007. Seven former workers have already pleaded guilty to using falsified information to gain employment at the plant.

Four plant supervisors and one director of human resources for the company were also arrested over the summer in connection with using fraudulent employment eligibility farms.

Agents from ICE are continuing to look for further evidence on unauthorized hiring practices at the Columbia Farms plant. No additional arrests have yet been made.
